Session information: Self Promotion and Selling Your Work Online
In association with Sarah Williams and Mimi Gray of Darklight Art, we take a look at how to create your ’shop window’, curating the right work for the right audience, how to talk about yourself, including writing a bio and what platforms and tools to use to get all this in front of the right people. The world of print sales can be daunting. We breakdown step by step how to approach it. Including pricing, print types, editions, where to get your work printed, the basics on running an online store and the best ways to promote your prints.

Sarah Williams & Mimi Gray were the art buying team at M&C Saatchi for 5 years, which is where they met. They’ve worked as commissioners, agents & producers, so have an understanding of commercial photography from all angles. They’ve commissioned creatives & photographers for multiple global brands, curated exhibitions for world renowned artists in AR & IRL, sat on the board of the Association of Photographers, judged many awards, spoken on panels, at festivals & on the main stage at Cannes Lions.
Sarah & Mimi have also made a couple of appearances on Sky & BBC TV, most notably, judging The Great British Photography Challenge, hosted by Rankin.
To date, they’ve worked with 150+ independent artists to advise on their careers & portfolios. In 2020 they founded online photography platform, Darklight Art.
Clients include Coca-Cola, NatWest bank, AirBnb, Havana Club, Adidas, Peroni, BMW & many many more.
