The value of a personal project lies helping you craft and refine your own style. It draws you into the curation of work and helps you develop an eye for a winning series. All valuable elements that help you stand out from the crowd and be noted by potential commissioners and clients.
During this session attendees will have the opportunity to hear from Aneesa Dawoojee on her work and practice and responses to her own personal projects to date.
There will opportunity for hands on practical experience with various photo stations as well as advice on furthering your own project idea. Attendees are encouraged to come with a concept in mind.

Aneesa Dawoojee is an award-winning social-documentary photographer whose work has been published in The Guardian, BBC, British Journal of Photography, Forbes Woman Africa, and The Portrait of Humanity. She received the 2023 ‘Power of Photography Award’ from AP magazine and was awarded the Solo International Photography Exhibition at the Royal Photographic Society, which featured images from her series The Fighting Spirit of South London and March of the Hummingbirds.
Aneesa is known for her exploration of community, resilience, hope, and social discourse. She has recently exhibited for the London Mayor’s Office, Arts Council England and has been working along-side Warner Bros Discovery on a series of social documentaries.
