The Cook Islands

The Cook Islands is a remote set of islands in the South Pacific Ocean.

The country is highly vulnerable to climate change impacts, and the community also faces many socio-political challenges.

The brief was to document the lives of people who used the services of IPPF, out of this was born many fascinating stories – in particular the strong and vibrant community of activists fighting for LGBTQ+ rights.

The illegality of homosexuality was over turned in April this year after a fierce fight from local communities.
