The AOP Awards are the leading celebration of photographic excellence for those working in the creative industries. Having established our Awards programme in the early 1980s, we believe in providing a professional springboard to support and showcase skill and talent within our industry.

Widely regarded as the ‘Oscars’ of the photography world, the AOP Photography Awards this year launched in late January 2024. Our selected finalists will be showcased and our Awards winners announced this September in Shoreditch, London.

Now in their 39th year and with 10 categories to choose from, we are delighted to have attracted over 30 esteemed industry judges to review the incredible still and moving images submitted and created by our professional accredited & assisting members for the AOP Photography Awards. These Awards will be celebrated alongside our Martin Evening Excellence in Digital Retouching Award and our, soon to be announced, AOP Open Award.

We have also lauched our prestigious AOP Project: Emerging Talent Awards, on 4 March – supported by Mother London, Hahnemühle, and MPrint, along with key industry experts, with prizes designed to provide you with key advice and support for photographers having started out in your professional careers and need an experienced boost.

On the 2 April, we launched the AOP Student Awards 2024, which will be showcased at Free Range, Truman Brewery, Shoreditch, London, in June, along with hosting our Starting Out programme. The AOP Student Awards are open to all those studying at further education level and higher. Our long established awards (early 1980s) offers an early opportunity to launch your career in photography, enabling students to be in front of a professional audience and market your achievements.
